FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS AT MISSION INN HOTEL Thursday, December 19, 2013
Leaving PRCC at 3:00 PM
Cost per person is $50.00, and must be paid in the clubhouse by 5:00 PM Sunday, 12/16. This is a wonderful opportunity to visit this historic inn and also take a 75 minute small group tour with a docent.
The docent tour will inform you of so much more than these tidbits: It all started in 1876 and has been the center of Riverside for over 125 years. Theodore Roosevelt visited in 1903. World leaders, presidents and Hollywood stars – from Ronald and Nancy Reagan to Richard and Pat Nixon, and screen legend Bette Davis – have married or honeymooned there. The plaque on the Famous Fliers' Wall was dedicated in 1932 as the International Shrine of Aviators. It is surrounded by 154 pairs of stunning10-inch copper wings, each dedicated to an individual or a group of fliers.
You'll be on your own for dinner, and touring the Festival of Lights at the Mission Inn Hotel as night settles in. About dark you'll be swept away by more than 4 million lights transforming the beloved AAA 4-diamond hotel into pure magic.
Sign up now, and make sure to provide your full name, and email address. You will receive an email confirming your reservation after Sunday, December 16th.
Be in the clubhouse by 2:45 PM, Thursday, December 19th to check in. The bus leaves promptly at 3:00 PM. The bus will depart the hotel in Riverside at 8:30 PM and return us to the PRCC clubhouse. Don't delay in reserving your spot as space is limited.
